FAQs
If there's anything you want to know that isn't covered here please reach out, we are always happy to help!
Please respond by 15th August. Though if you are able to respond sooner that would be appreciated as makes planning easier for us.
If you do not reply by the 15/8/26 then we will put you down as unable to attend.
We don't have a lot of space in the Caledonian Hall and are inviting a lot of friends we have not seen in a long time, so if you are in a long term relationship or have a small human we have put them on the list already so they are included but we unfortunately don't have space for everyone to bring a plus one.
We promise there will be a lot of fun amazing people to talk to and if you don't like crowds you can vanish into the gardens for a break.
Sorry but no Halloween costumes, please dress appropriate for a wedding.
We are intending to be married outside in the John Muir Grove, weather permitting, so be sure to bring a jacket as it can be cold in October.
Bride will be in cream and black, bridal party in black and Black Watch tartan.
No, you have free entry for the day and you are not restricted to the hall, you are free to wAnder around the gardens and glasshouses.
Note - The glasshouses have been undergoing renovations but should be open again in time for our wedding.
We have a set menu, each of our courses has a vegan/vegetarian alternative and the caterers are also able to work with any allergies. Please make sure to let us know in the RSVP section.
For our non Scottish friends a ceilidh (pronounced Kay-lee) is a traditional Scottish dance, that usually involves a lot of spinning, so bring your dancing shoes.
Don't worry if you don't know the dances or have forgotten the steps, we will have a caller to help guide you on the night.
A lot of you are traveling a long way, you are already getting flights and accommodation in Edinburgh to come see us say "Yes" to each other and we both feel that is gift enough. Please just bring yourselves. We just want to hang out with our friends and have a lovely day with you all.
So, please there is no need for any gifts however if you feel strongly then you can donate to the following charity's on our behalf:
- Doctors Without Borders https://msf.org.uk/
- Woodland Trust https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/
